Samaritan House will be recognized in the community as the Heart and Hands of Christ.
Samaritan House is a community service organization devoted to serving individuals and families within our community by recognizing their needs and mobilizing the means for dealing with those needs so that suffering can be relieved, dignity preserved, and love shared.
Samaritan House is a Michigan non-profit tax exempt organization and has been given 501(c)(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service. It is operated by twenty Christian churches in the Romeo-Washington-Bruce-Ray-Shelby area.
Support comes from the contributions of churches, businesses, civic organizations, and individuals that believe in and want to be a part of this work.
We welcome all as a donor, volunteer, or visitor.
For many years, St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Romeo provided services to the poor through the establishment of Romeo Community Service Center. In 1994, St. Clement invited other Christian churches in the area to join them in this effort. When several area churches accepted this invitation, a new corporation was formed under the name of Samaritan House.
