Services
In 2008 Samaritan House provided:
- Emergency food to 6,236 individuals, at 3 meals per day for 10 - 14 days, an increase of 13.9% over 2007.
- Utility assistance to 34 families consisting of 122 individuals.
- Shelter assistance to 36 families, consisting of 114 individuals.
- Clothing assistance to 322 individuals through our E-care network, an increase of 13.4%.
- Backpacks, school supplies, and shoes to 341 children returning to school.
- Food baskets to 582 families for holiday meals at Easter and Thanksgiving, an increase of 24.1%.
- 2104 Christmas gifts to family members, and nursing home and care center patients through the Sharing Tree Program.
- Medical services to 653 patients through the NCN (Neighbors Caring for Neighbors) Outreach Clinic, an increase of 4.1%.
- Free Income Tax preparation assistance to 98 families or individuals resulting in state and federal refunds totaling $165,230.
