Sharing Tree

Approximately 2,160 Christmas gifts were distributed to family members, as well as nursing home and care center patients through the 2008 Sharing Tree program. The families also received Christmas dinner food baskets.

Our thanks and appreciation go out to the 295 volunteers who put in 1446 hours to support this effort! From Sep. to Dec. they made tags, addressed envelopes, collected, sorted, wrapped, and distributed gifts. The gifts were delivered by all the supporting churches and groups to St. John Lutheran Church. There the gifts were sorted, checked in, and then picked up by clients or delivered to them.

To date expenses reported for this project are $5471. This includes purchasing gifts for tags that were not returned and for any new families that came in after tag deadlines, all the supplies (paper, printing, postage, bags for gifts, wrapping paper, etc.), and boxes of candy for families and group homes.

Sincere thanks to the Romeo Goodfellows, Romeo Lions, and hundreds of others who donated money and gifts to make this program possible.

Thank you to Judy Pribish, Deanne DePyper, Ed Risch and Mary Jane Johnson for chairing this event.
